“Chirina” is first Georgian company becoming a member of EBRD’s Blue Ribbon Programme

“Chirina“ – vertically integrated leading poultry producer of Georgia, which sells its poultry products under “Biu-Biu” brand- has been selected by EBRD as first Georgian company to be a member of Blue Ribbon Programme.

Cooperation agreement wassigned on December 6th, 2018 in Tbilisi by Mr. Revaz Vashakidze –founder and manager of “Chirina” and Mr. Bruno Balvanera – EBRD ManagingDirector.

EBRD’s Blue Ribbon Programme mission is to support growing businesses and market leaders to develop and expand further, thus impacting the development of private sector. Programme is designed to provide support to enterprises selected for their potential for long-term growth and leadership in the domestic and regional private sector.

Mr. Revaz Vashakidze: “We are delighted that Chirina is first Georgian company which was selected and became a member of EBRD’s Blue Ribbon Programme. Through the Programme EBRD aims to develop a strong and long term relationship with “Chirina” by  offering a blended set of long term advisory and financial products to support company’s growth and long term strategy”.

“In order to meet growing local and export demand on our “Biu-Biu” chicken meat products, in 2018 we launched investment project for increasing production capacity of Chirina’s broiler farms by 50% from current 1200 tons to 1800 tons per month. New broiler farms will become operational by early 2020. Close and long term cooperation with EBRD within Blue Ribbon Programme will support us in successful implementation of our current and future investment projects” – commented Mr.Vashakidze.
